The gurl Yue Memorial Uprise Award of Excellence

The gurl Yue (1978-2023) was an active member of the Leather Community and was a member of the House of Yue. The gurl Yue was a member of the Leather Solidarity Collective from 2021-2023. She volunteered and presented at several events locally in the Pacific Northwest and national events such as Southeast Leatherfest (SELF) and South Plains Leather Fest (SPLF). Her service to the community was a priority to her. She embodied what the Uprise! award represents and with approval from House of Yue, the Leather Solidarity Collective honors her legacy by renaming the Uprise Award of Excellence to the gurl Yue Memorial Uprise Award of Excellence.

Daesha

Daesha (pronouns: she/her) is a Biracial Mexican and Japanese American with Filipino and Polynesian roots. Demi Fem Leathergirl munch-host and organizer in LA/OC California, currently involved in multiple volunteering avenues supporting local events and serving as Chief Operating Officer and Big Sister Mentor for SAKE SoCal Asian Kink Events, and Mod for LA Kinky Weirdos helping raise over $10,000 in donations to the Los Angeles LGBTQ Center from charity events.

She is service and ownership oriented submissive with 16 years experience in the lifestyle centered around Total Authority Transfer and Power Exchange Relationships. She is passionate about service to the community and committed to the furthering of educational programming. Daesha first became active in the public scene in 2005 attending Passive Arts (currently known as Sanctuary LAX) through the Fet Noir group. From there she has been active in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Mesa Arizona communities as a participant, until she finally settled in the Orange County area in 2015. She has spoken on BDSM panels pertaining to BDSM 101 & Safety, BIPOC Inclusivity, AAPI Cultural Stereotypes in Kink for various organizations, as well as QTBIPOC panels for both Obsidian LA's Paradise, & Anomaly of Karansas' Cirque de Earth. Her time with Leather Solidarity Collective was spent as an Ambassador Director and opening for UPRISE 2021 as Keynote Speaker. Additionally she has been interviewed for KinkyAFPodcast as well as the Black to Leather Podcast, and has participated in and/or assisted with multiple virtual conferences. Locally she is largely known for her munch and Dungeon Party events where she was Operations Manager and Vetting Coordinator.
